A mixed-use development is set to bring new businesses to Shelbyville, according to a report from Louisville Business First.Alton Webb & Associates unveiled the first phase of plans for Saddlebred Pointe, a mixed-use development on over 70 acres in Shelbyville. The site is off the Freedom’s Way and U.S. 55 Bypass, about a mile and a half off Interstate 64’s exit 32.The project will come in two phases, said Jay Ingram, an associate at Alton Webb. The first phase, called The Pointe, includes 24,000 square feet of potential retail, medical, office and restaurant space.Road and infrastructure work is being prepped now, and construction on the site is estimated to start in the fall. New roads are being created to connect Freedom Way with Ardmore Crossing Drive behind the development.Shelby County ranked No. 1 for most housing unit growth in the Louisville Metro statistical area and No. 4 in all of Kentucky with a 13.2% increase, which is about 2,200 houses, from 2010 to 2020, according to U.S. census figures.Click here to learn more about the businesses that are coming to the new development from Louisville Business First.
