RSBA hosts ‘speed networking’ event | Business

Local businesses had an opportunity to get to know each other in a unique way Thursday.
The Radcliff Small Business Alliance hosted a “speed networking” event at the Lincoln Trail Golf Club in Vine Grove. Business owners sat down with each other for a couple of minutes to talk about their business and ask about others.
Cecilia Jones, owner of Capture Creative Images Photography Studio in Radcliff, said she heard about the event and thought it would be a good way to see what the RSBA had to offer after hearing positive feedback on other RSBA events.
“I have been hearing other businesses around me speak of attending these and some of the opportunities they’ve been able to get from attending,” she said. “For me, it’s a first-time experience that gives me a chance to see if this is truly an avenue that I want to go down.”
Jones said she has been in business in Radcliff since 2013.
“It’s something that I need to consider, especially since I’m located in Radcliff,” she said about joining the RSBA.
She said she was interested in getting to know other owners of surrounding businesses and learning how they could cooperate, even outside of the business world.
“I’m hoping it will give me an opportunity to learn a lot of the people around me and the things they’re doing, or not doing,” she said. “Maybe it could even lead to working together for community projects.”
RSBA’s Selena Hudson said the event was a huge success.
“We connected on all levels,” she said in a Facebook post after the event.
The event was a new experiment on the RSBA’s regularly schedule Connect sessions.
